The Smerch multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) is designed to destroy various group targets, such as manpower, unarmored and armored vehicles, artillery and anti-aircraft systems, command posts and other objects of the military-industrial structure. "Smerch" has 12 guides for launching 300 mm caliber projectiles and can cover an area of up to 60 hectares. A wide range of missiles with a firing range of up to 70-90 km has been developed for the Smerch MLRS: with fragmentation and cumulative fragmentation warheads, with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, with a thermobaric warhead, with self-aiming warheads, a missile for anti-tank mining of terrain with 25 anti-tank mines and others.
