The Germans, impressed with the performance of the Soviet 120mm mortars, developed their own 120mm Granatwerfer based on the documentation captured in one of Kharkiv defense enterprise. The mortar in German use was given the designation "sGrW42" (grenade thrower Model 1942), and was successfully used from 1943 until the end of the World War 2.
