The floatplane version of the An-2P was developed in 1955. The floats are 24 feet long with a very shallow draft (2 feet). A reversible pitch propeller and a special prop-governor are used in addition to special connections for the float rudders. The floats and reversible propeller can be fitted to any Aan-2 variant, with a conversion time of 20 hours using 4 men. When outfitted with floats the payload of the An-2 is reduced by approximately 600lbs. Due to the size and extra weight incurred from this conversion.
