The ZlÃn Z-XIII was a Czechoslovak all-wooden single-seat low-wing aircraft from the second half of the 1930s. Its development was prematurely terminated and only one prototype was produced. It is now owned by the National Technical Museum in Prague.
The prototype survived the Second World War hidden in a hangar, where Bata's technicians disguised it. At the same time, they also painted swastikas on it just to be sure. After the war, this single prototype was transferred to the collections of the National Technical Museum in Prague. In the years 1989?1990, it was renovated and placed in a permanent exhibition in the traffic hall. In 2007, the company "Historicka letka republiky Ceskoslovenske" started the construction of a faithful replica of the ZlÃn-XIII airplane. The replica should be dedicated to the memory of three people: designer Jaroslav Lonk, project donor Jan AntonÃn Ba? and pilot Jan Ambrus. However, the implementation of the project was not completed.
