The MIG-29 is Russia's latest jet. The ur-model had its maiden flight in 1977 and has since been further developed into tremendous versions. Spectacular acrobatic flights at air shows earned the "Strizhi" Aerobatic Team world fame which operates eight MiG-29Rs as well as seven Suchhoi SU-27s at the Kubinka base near Moscow.
