Discover the Bounty Jolly Boat, wooden model made by the boat that was boarded by William Bligh with 18 loyal sailors after the mutiny of his crew of HMS Bounty. Guided by our detailed step by step you can complete your replica of this sailing legend.
In December 1787 the HMS Bounty left England with Haiti destiny to transport breadfruit to the Caribbean, finding a big storm that forced them to change course, arriving at Haiti three months later. This delay forced them to stay on the island for several months until again it was possible to collect breadfruit buds. In this stay the crew got used to the natives customs and established relationships with women of Haiti, almost forgetting their status as English sailors. After many difficulties by Bligh to impose discipline again, they began their journey on April 4th, 1789, when the mutiny was produced 24 days later. Bligh sailed over 3500 nautical miles for 47 days to the port of the Dutch colony of Coupang, losing only one of his men on the journey.
