Discover La Pinta, a wooden model kit from the fastest of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus on his first voyage to the New World in 1492. Built in the shipyards of Palos de la Frontera few years before the trip, she was the fastest of three and often had to wait for the other two. Guided by our detailed step by step instructions you can complete your replica of this legend of sailing.
The expedition left from the harbour of Palos to the Canary Islands on August 3, 1492. The sails and the rudder of La Pinta were repaired in this layover, finally leaving for the New World on September 6. It was on October 12 when from La Pinta the famous cry of Rodrigo de Triana 'Land ho!' was heard. Later on, La Pinta would be the first to arrive in an European port, reaching Bayonne on March 1, 1493.
